Steam’s Moors signs with BCHL’s Capitals

Summerland Steam rookie forward Kent Moors has signed to play for the Cowichan Valley Capitals in the BCHL for the 2023-24 season.

Moors led the Steam with 40 points in 41 games, which also ranked him third among all KIJHL rookies. Moors 18, a Victoria product, represented the KIJHL in the BCHC Prospects Game and played eight games with the Capitals as an affiliate player, scoring a goal and adding an assist.

“I am very excited for this opportunity to play at the next level for the Cowichan Valley Capitals,” said Moors. “I want to thank my family, coaches, billets and teammates for helping me get to where I am today.”

Steam Head Coach-GM Mark MacMillan said the organization is excited to see Moors advance his career in the BCHL.

“Kent was our team leading-scorer and MVP as a 17-year-old and brought a great work ethic and attitude to the rink every day,” said MacMillan. “He continually wants to get better and has worked hard to earn this opportunity.”
