Summerland Steam forward Austin Cameron has signed to play for the Penticton Vees in the BCHL next season.
The Kelowna product was third on the Steam with 23 points in 34 games last season and added three assists in four KIJHL Teck Cup championship games. Cameron played in four games as an affiliate player with the Vees last season, scoring his first BCHL goal.
“I was fortunate enough to earn an AP spot with Penticton in my second year, which was a great fit with it being so close to Summerland,” said Cameron, who is very excited to join the organization he grew up watching.

Over two seasons, Cameron played 62 games and had 32 points for the Steam.
“As a 17-year-old playing against bigger and older guys in the 21/22 season, that helped with my physical game, along with learning how to play up and down the lineup,” said Cameron. “I credit my development the past two years to my Summerland coaches and teammates, as well as trainers who do all the work behind the scenes.”
