Steam shutout on the road, again

The Summerland Steam return home without a point from their road trip to Sicamous and Revelstoke.

 

The Steam weren’t able to muster a goal, losing1-0 in Sicamous on Friday, then 5-0 to the Revelstoke Grizzlies Saturday in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League play. Grizzlies goalie Liam McGarva made 22 saves. Jared Breitkreuz came in relief of Eric Scherger to turn aside all five shots he faced. Scherger allowed five goals on 29 shots in 45 minutes, 27 seconds of action.

 

The shutout loss is the third straight for the Steam.

Kaeden Patrick opened the scoring with the eventual winner at the 12 minute mark of the opening period. The goal is the 25th of the season for Patrick. Also scoring for the Grizzlies were Carter Anderson, Patrick with his second, Brenden Vulcano and Rider McCallum.

 

The Grizzlies went 1-for-8 on the power play, while the Steam went 0-for-5.

 

The Steam (22-19-2-0-2) return to action on Wednesday in Osoyoos to face the Coyotes (16-25-2-0-1). Catch the action at www.playfullscreen.com.
