Steam bested by Knights

The Summerland Steam dropped a 3-2 decision to the North Okanagan Knights Saturday at Summerland Arena.

 

Mitchell Gove (17th) and Lane French (12th) scored for the Steam, while Jared Breitkreuz turned aside 31 of 34 shots. The Steam’s record is now 20 wins, 15 losses, two ties and two overtime losses in theĀ Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.

 

Bobby Milligan was in goal for the Knights, turning aside 28 of 30 shots to earn the victory in his debut.

 

The Steam were 0-for-5 on the power-play and were perfect on the penalty kill at six-for-six.

 

On Friday in Kamloops, the Steam lost by the same result. Scoring for the Steam were Ryan Allen, his third, and French, who has two goals in fiveĀ games after being acquired from the Princeton Posse.

 

The Steam return to action next weekend when they host the Osoyoos Coyotes Friday at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, the last-place Princeton Posse visit.
